1976 Hondo Pantera

Jet boat hull with a v drive installed.  I bought it new  and learned Hondo had accidently produced an awesome boat. It has the speed of a flatbottom but turns and is as stable as a v hull.  Never a hint of kiting.  After I had the wing and blown engine installed,  I had the gel coat redone and the graphics done in gel coat too.  In 76 they only did solid color gel coats and the graphics were acrylic lacquer.  They didn’t survive gas spilling or sun.  I also had the Competitive trailer sand blasted and painted in the reverse colors.  The engine is a 454 with an underdriven 6-71 blower so it runs on 1 gal of racing fuel  mixed with 8 gal of premium without ethanol.  It has a Dan Olson wing, and an oil cooler.  I have 25% reduction gears in the Casale.  I have a Medalion Marine speedometer which is guaranteed accurate to within 1 mph up to 125 mph.  The cav plate has a T lock with a pedal override.  The seats have been reupholstered.  It’s not a show boat but it’s close.  I just had it out and did 102 mph with the carbs still needing some tuning.  It comes with a yellow fitted tarp with blue strap tiedowns.
